The Annual Charlotte Chalk Art Festival (CCAF) features a friendly competition between local and regional chalk art artists aged 12 to 17 (youth individuals and youth teams of up to three) and ages 18 and over (individual adults). All competitors must APPLY BY SEPTEMBER 30th – APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN JUNE.

This FREE two-day event will be held outside at NoDa Brewing Company North End, 150 W 32nd Street, Charlotte, NC 28206. Festival-goers will be able to see a colorful street art gallery come to life. Various music offerings, family-friendly fun activities, food, beverages, arts, crafts, and retail vendors will be on hand for all to patronize.

Creative Canvas Productions, LLC, a Charlotte-based event management, video production, and motion graphics design company, created the CCAF to preserve an art form from 16th-century Renaissance Italy. This was a time when an artist, known as a “madonnari,” made a living by receiving coins from passersby who watched them recreate chalk paintings of the Madonna while traveling from one village to another. The Charlotte art scene started bustling in 2018, the year the idea was conceived, and in 2022, the founders of the festival held the first of its kind chalk art festival, and we’re growing year after year.

Chalk Art Artists ages 12 and up will compete at CCAF
Local and regional artists create a street chalk art gallery over two days during CCAF.
DJs, Local Musicians, and family-friendly activities and performances will be featured during CCAF.
You can bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on in the astro-truf area if picnic areas are full.
Parking is FREE during CCAF.
CCAF venues may have specific requirements for entry.

We love delicious food and refreshing beverages. Look for opportunities to be a CCAF food vendor starting in June. ALL VENDORS must be on-site BOTH days. We provide a 10×10 tent or truck/cart space.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

CCAF2026 needs Volunteers NOW! This will be the most important role in the success of the Annual Charlotte Chalk Art Festival. We need pre-planning, set up (8 or 9 am), and tear down at 5 pm assistance, etc. If you’re between 12 and 15, you can work with a parent or guardian on your designated day to help us. Apply Here!

ARTISAN VENDORS

Artisan & Retail Vendors will occupy a 10×10 tented, no-walls (we provide) space at CCAF2026. You must be on-site for BOTH days: October 17th and 18th. EVENTENY APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE IN JUNE!

Join our CCAF2026 Chalk Art Contest! Local and regional artists will compete for cash prizes using their creative chalk art designs. Sign up as a youth individual or a youth team of three, ages 12-17, or an individual adult ages 18+. Prizes are awarded within each category. EVENTENY Application available in June!

We’re curating our CCAF2026 stage. Keep an eye on our social media posts for the line-up, including an all-ages OPEN MIC. Our goal is to offer local live or DJ’d music, visual, and/or performance art.
